Learn more on child speech

Comments:

CITY of Wanneroo libraries are running information sessions for parents concerned about their child’s speech development and wanting some ideas about how to help.

Child speech is one of three courses for parents, starting on February 19 at Girrawheen and Wanneroo libraries.

Speech pathologist Ansuya Rajoo, who will talk to parents about speech difficulties, said it was possible some children had ‘glue ear’, which caused delayed speech.

“Our aim is to gain a better understanding of how to encourage your child to start talking or to talk more, encourage your 0-6 year-old to talk using fun activities and improve your insight into what to expect at different ages and stages of your child’s speech and language development,” she said.

“We will help the parent help the child.”
